Hey, can you smell it? Turkey is in the oven! Thanksgiving (and Christmas, of course) are here already, and it’s about time you start preparing your merry holiday meals. With a little bit of planning, you can make sure you don't fall off the fitness wagon until January 1st. Follow these tips to help you stay on track.

Make a plan

Have a plan in place before the holidays. What are you preparing for meals and what are you doing for exercise? Jot it down and schedule.

Stay Active

Sticking to your routine can be hard and sometimes you may need to improvise. Stay in shape by intentionally parking further from your destination, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and drinking enough water.

Prioritize Sleep

When sleep is scarce, your workouts and diet suffer. Set a sleep schedule to help you prepare for a good nights rest.

Make Healthier Choices

Try to eat slowly as the brain takes about 20 minutes to let you know you’re full. Also, go easy on the appetizers, meats, desserts, cream sauces, etc. to leave room for healthier choices. Take a long a few healthy snacks as well to help curb your appetite during holiday events.
